DESCRIPTION:
Dr. Dubious performs traditional jazz in the New Orleans and Chicago styles, Dixieland Jazz is the broadest term. We perform with from four to eight pieces featuring three reeds, usually clarinet, tenor sax and bass sax, but all double on other saxophones and all play clarinet; cornet (drummer joins that horn on trumpet for some two horn features ala Louis Armstrong and King Oliver and both double on flugelhorn); piano (or keyboard if no acoustic piano is available - all we need is a power hookup somewhere for the keyboard and vocals if wanted for the program); trombone; and banjo, doubling on guitar. We feature male and female vocals, both ballads and novelty tunes, and play music that is invitingly danceable and toe-tappingly fun. We are happy to discuss program considerations within our general style and can furnish a demonstration CD or mp3 cuts. Please visit our website at or contact us directly for further details.
