Description
Some of the hottest jazz players on the East Coast - veterans of the Woody Allen band at Michael's Pub and the Red Onion band at the Cajun - can turn your special event into a happening bursting with great music, rhythm and energy. They bring the pulse of old New Orleans to life...from the sounds of Louis Armstrong and King Oliver to the excitement of Chicago during the Jazz Age. Everything from the great traditional jazz standards and swing tunes to ballads and blues will get dancers dancing and feet tapping. Among our reviews:
...'some fine Bix-influenced cornet solos by the leader Mike Stein.'
...'There is an appealing balance between the gruff, full-bodied
trombone of Dick Dreiwitz and the joyful bubbling bounce of Joe
Licari's clarinet.'
...'Barbara Dreiwitz (tuba) played on the sound track of the Woody
Allen film 'Sleeper.''
...'Alan Cary (banjo) is a delight vocally and instrumentally.'

Feedback
- The Wilcats' music really made our wedding 100 times more special. Everyone fell in love with them, from the kids to the older folk.
The band was beyond accommodating, agreeing to stay for an extra set everyone enjoyed them so much. We only hope to be able to have them join us again on another occasion.

- As a fellow musician, I know what it takes. Wildcat Jazz Band is as good as it gets. In addition, it was my fathers 80th birthday and he likes one kind of music, dixieland jazz. He was singing along and couldn't be happier. Larry Cosden -- Larry C, Wayne, NJ, 5/23/2009
- I had a Roaring 20s theme party at Sardi's in NYC for my 60th birthday and I felt that the Wildcat Jazz Band absolutely made my special evening a huge success. They are the real deal when it comes to Dixieland Jazz and their playing was fantastic. I would recommend this group to anyone and everyone who is looking to have the most fun they will ever have at a party. How wonderful they are. Mike Stein their leader is a great guy and a total pro. They were very accomodating to all my requests and when they play, believe me, the whole room just comes alive. I will hire them for my NEXT 60th birthday party for sure! -- Willard B, New York City, NY, 11/6/2008
- We hired the Wildcat Jazz Band for our Centennial Event which was themed with Edwardian costumes and we needed to hear some Ragtime to complete the effect. The Wildcat Jazz Band did that and more, they were very professional, and talented! The guests loved them, and it seemed that they never took a break! We will definitely have them play for us again.

- The band was great, and the residents really enjoyed the music they provided for us. We definitely would use them in the future! Maggie -- Maggie F, West Orange, NJ, 2/21/2012
- My husband and I were positively thrilled with the Wildcats, from beginning to end. Planning our wedding was such a hectic experience, but Mike Stein was thoroughly professional, dependable and helpful throughout the planning process. We wanted a "New Orleans Jazz/Garden wedding" in our own backyard, and the Wildcats perfectly set the tone. They read the crowd instinctively, and everyone enjoyed the music so much! My husband wanted to serenade me with a Fats Waller tune on his trombone, and the Wildcats helped him plan and execute this "dream" of his. Really, the Wildcats were just perfect, and we recommend them without reservation! -- Sheila D, Babylon, NY, 6/28/2008
- The Wildcat Jazz band was very professional and pleasant to work with. Our client was very happy with their performance. "The Wildcat Jazz Band did an outstanding job entertaining our guests." says Diane Connor for the Disney movie premiere of Deja Vu.
I just want to thank you for the enjoyment of having your band the Wildcats perform at our World Premiere of "DEJA VU"
at Roseland in New York.
Everyone enjoyed the sounds, people came early and stayed late - always a good sign for an after party.
I even saw Jon Voight doing the second line dance with some folks right down in front !
Your outfit was a pleasure to work with, the sound had exactly the right feel for what we were trying to create as the atmosphere and we look forward to doing it again some time.
Please thank all the guys and gal and send them our Holiday regards.
I'll be sure to let Mike Dixon and Gigmasters know you were consumate pros.
My warmest regards,
Tami Sharp

- They were wonderful and would use them and recommend them in a minute again.
Real New York Jazzmen. -- Cornelia S, New York, NY, 11/21/2009
- The band was absolutely fantastic. There's no one better! The happy music they played put a smile on the faces of everyone all night long and since the wedding all our guests have commented on how wonderful the band was. They couldn't have been more perfect. Thanks for helping to make the night such a success!
Best wishes,
Kate and Luke Spencer

- The Wildcats arrived on time, were completely professional, sounded great, interacted well with the audience, took requests, and made this a truly memorable birthday for my Dad. -- Bob W, Allentown, PA, 11/14/2009
- Wildcat Jazz Band played for the two hour cocktail reception we had at our wedding. We rented Metrazur's balconies overlooking New York's Grand Central Station main concourse. Having lived in New Orleans in the past and heard numerous dixieland jazz groups this group was everything we were looking for. My wife, who admitedly was apprehensive, wanted a more standard jazz band but Wildcat mixed in some standards as well and read the crowd well. In the end she, as well as many others, were amazed how well it worked. A very festive and celebratory way to start off the evening. My only regret is not having them play after dinner as the DJ we hired was a nightmare and played every cheezy wedding reception song in the book despite our prior direction. We highly reccomend them. Peter & Nora - New York City - 9/16/06 -- Peter T, New York, NY, 9/16/2006
