Do you want unique entertainment? We are an Okinawan Taiko Drumming group that love to share the culture with others. If you need 5 or 45 we are the group for you. We love interactive performances for groups of all ages. Feel the boom of the Taiko drums, tap your feet or clap your hands to the traditional as well as modern music, see the delightful performances of the girls in their kimonos while the hand held shisas are sure to be a crowd pleasers. To top it off we have a small performance with a dragon followed by the majestic performance of the only American Professional Okinawan Shisa team of father and son. The shisa is a dog-like creature that comes from Okinawan folklore. Chin Hamaya Culture Center, Inc. supports cultural and educational activities that bring to light the richness and diversity of Okinawan, Japanese and other cultures. Included in this mission is the dedication to foster community among the diverse cultures and those persons interested in cultural heritage. Chin Hamaya Culture Center, Inc. is a base to utilize, enjoy, learn and discover cultures from around the world.
