Richard B. Barnes

Richard B. Barnes is a soloist, playing clarinet, alto and tenor saxophones and sings with recorded ensembles resulting in small ensemble to large band or orchestra sounds. The music consists of numerous styles, such as, The Sound of Music, American Song Classics, Broadway & Hollywood Classics, Music of Henry Mancini, Contemporary Hits, Dixieland, George Gershwin, Contemporary Classic, Contemporary Ballads, Jazz & Blues and Contemporary Latin plus Christmas Songs.
He has in the past performed in large dance bands and orchestras, studied with Frank Barone, a leading musician in New Jersey, Richard Lee of Curtis Institute and Ben Armato, clarinetist with the New York Met Orchestra for 35 years. • Mr.Barnes literally "made" the party. He tailored his performance specifically to our event and space. It was a small party at an outdoor venue, and he made sure that the volume level was just right. His repertoire is extensive and covers everything from standard jazz to Broadway to current pop hits. I was unsure if a single sax would be enough "entertainment" for the whole party, but he was absolutely the best part of the evening and our guests are still talking about him. He arrived extra early to set up and even stayed later than the party's official end time. We couldn't have asked for more.
