This group of wedding singers are one of city's best kept secrets. And thy can play almost anything! Every member of this band, individually, has played with some of the best and most popular singers and musicians in the world. They have also been featured in a few Hollywood movies as well; The Guardian, Above the Law, and Under Siege just to name a few. The entertainment at your event doesn't have to be boring or mediocre with stiff musicians or cookie cutter DJs who run the same old tired routine that we've all seen time and time again. The Catz have shown event planners and their clients that there is another option. They've been known to play everything from the Motown classics of yesterday to current popular hits of today. Here's a little back history on group: Back in the seventies and eighties, a few very successful bands were part of the local scene. They were Heavy Manners, Big Twist and the Mellow Fellows and a Rhythm and Blues band called Third Rail. These bands played the college and club circuits and sold them out most nights. The musicians of these three bands were very respected session and studio musicians and singers when they were not performing in the clubs at night. Producers around town were always reaching out to these players for commercial jingle work. Most of the players of these three bands were starting to make records and had been long time friends already. One of them came up with the idea that it would be great to put together a fun, high energy R&B and funk band as a project on the side. They thought that it would be a nice break from the grind of consistently putting out records and doing studio work. Because they were so popular individually, they knew that club owners and booking agents would be eager to put them in venues to perform some of the popular hits that they played so well. This Chicago Wedding band put things into motion. They started getting together during their off days and put in hours of rehearsal time until they got their act and music very tight. It didn't take long for the word to get out that this super-group was formed and the buzz was loud. Fans of the three original bands came out toe see them in droves whenever they would perform. The Catz still play occasional club dates but most of the time they are providing some of the best entertainment in the world for their clients who hire them for weddings and other private occasions.
