We are the band called Herman Jones My Funk Brother. We are here to entertain you. Our goal is to make you feel good. Forget about your troubles and... Dance. Herman Jones My Funk Brother Band brings back the great sounds of the 70s and 80s with R&B, soul, jazz and funk fusion with both original and cover music. The band makes you want to get off your chair and dance. Drums, Saxophone, Bass Guitar, Electric Guitar and Keyboard. That's Herman Jones dance band.

Herman Jones is a professional musician and singer with experience spanning decades. Herman has performed with: The Xciters, Crystal Haze and Zulu The Amazers. As a drummer for The Xciters, Herman Jones opened for: Al Green, The Impressions, Erma Franklin, Joe Tex, Leon Haywood and the list goes on...

The band's additional six talented musicians include: Bass player Stephen Crowe who started playing bass in the 60's and has opened for a variety of artists including the Temptations, Al Green and Barbra Acklin.

Saxophonist / Vocalist Toni Rouseau was influenced by K. D. Bell at the age of 13 and learned blues and jazz. He was a soloist at Orchestra Hall & played with Tom Hunter, High and Mighty, Billy Hollomen, Jim Belushi, TC Jammers, Kip Blackshire, Donald and Donald Thomas.

Guitarist Kurt Nestler is a 15 year veteran of the local jazz, blues, and R&B scene. He brings energy, searing hot leads and funky tight rhythms.

Keyboardist, Ted Godbout, Played in the North and Midwest with a variety of bands such as Guster, Three Dog Night, OAR, Tommy James and the Shondells, Bobby Vee, Little Richard, the Exies, De La Soul, and Everclear, Leon Russell, and the Cherry Poppin' Daddies. Active as a jazz pianist in the Twin Cities area and as a classical pianist, Ted has performed for the Music Northwest Chamber Music Series in Seattle as well as for the St. Cloud Symphony Honors Concert.

Our Percussionist, Josh Perlich, got his 1st base & snare in 3rd grade; played percussion in orchestra/jazz band all thru school & into college at the U of ND. Played with Fair Enough & has been influenced by Bill Martin of Medeski, Martin and Wood, Stanton Moore of Stanton Moore Trio, Jon Theodore of The Mars Volta, Steve Gadd and Peter Erskin. He plays solid and funky, off beat progres-sions, and laying down heavy 2's and 4's with fitting ghost notes and subtle fills.

Our newest member, Chico Harris, has played some kind of drum or percussive instrument for over 30 years and was recently inducted into the Mid-America Music Hall of Fame. He adds the congas to the band.

Known for his versatile style of mixing R&B, Jazz, Latin, and Caribbean rhythms into his performance, has awarded him a unique experience to work with a variety of local and national producers, songwriters and artists from a wide spectrum of musical genres.
