Description
Groove Place is a ten-piece horn band that performs a wide variety of music including Dance, R&B, Funk, Soul, Motown, Rock, Blues, Big Band, Jazz and Latin. We feature a dedicated front male and female vocalist, a hot four-piece horn section consisting of sax, two trumpets, and trombone; combined with a rocking rhythm section of keyboard, guitar, bass and drums. Having worked throughout the Mid-Atlantic States for the past nine years, Groove Place has developed into a polished, extremely entertaining, high-energy dance party band determined to captivate the crowd at your special event. Our diverse song repertoire and experience make us a leader in the Philadelphia wedding and private party arena. We are proud to have served so many satisfied clients over the years and we hope you become one of the many who rave about us.
As you already probably know, finding an excellent horn band at a reasonable price is like finding a needle in a haystack. It is a jungle out there with so many bands at varying sizes and rates. How do you know what is right for you and what is reasonable or overpriced?
Why us? We are solely owned and operated and are not part of a larger conglomerate. This means you deal directly with the bandleader and save on the overhead cost found within many larger entertainment entities. Our goal is to provide excellent entertainment at a reasonable cost. - "So what can I say. Some professionals are dedicated and some go over the top. Groove place went over the top. Anyone could have canceled their sevrvices based on the biggest hurricane of the decade but not Groove Place they showed up ready to rock the crowd which they did. I cannot thank them enough for sticking it out and making our daughter's wedding a huge success. How bout learning the song Rock me like a Hurricane with hours to spare so the bride and groom could use this for their entrance song. They are all great people and very down to earth. - You have a very simple question to ask yourselves, "Do we want our guests to dance and have a phenomenal time at our reception?" If your answer is yes, then your immediate first step is to hire Groove Place as your band. They are an incredible band, beyond professional and accomodating and very talented. See them live and you'll know it at once. Not only was hiring them the easiest decision we made, it was the one we were most confident about, and we never had to worry about how they'd be received. They were even kind enough to comply when all of our guests chanted "one more song" at evening's end (2x in fact). - Quite simply, Groove Place was the best wedding band imaginable. We could not have been more pleased! They were courteous and responsive -- the coordinator at our reception site indicated to us that they were very organized and professional. They also were very accommodating -- our first dance song, our father/daughter song, and our mother/son song were not on their play list, but they mastered them. We got a ton of compliments from our guests, including "best band we've ever heard at a wedding!" They were really entertaining, and the voices and musicianship were top notch. - Hired for my boyfriend's 50th birthday. They were excellent!!!! Friends & family continue to tell us what a great time they had!! The band interacted with our guests. Young and old danced all night!! The dance floor was never empty. They were only took 2 short breaks. Very professional. Met with them before the party & told them our expectations & they were met in every way!!. 2 days before the party we called requesting "Happy Birthday" in Polish & they found it & played it perfectly. - The Groove Place was fantastic! The vocalists were outstanding as was the band. The performers interacted and engaged exceptionally well with the crowd throughout the evening. They knew how to tone it down during the dinner hour and how kick it up to get the party going!

- We were lucky to have such a beautiful day on our wedding day. On top of that, we were fortunate enough to have the trifecta - an amazing venue, delicious food and a band that simply rocked the house! The band leader was very professional, accommodating and extremely considerate from the early planning days through the end of the reception. I have a big Cuban family, so incorporating Spanish music was important. They were able to bring in a latin singer for a small set that really impressed my family! - I wish we could rate them on a higher scale then just a 5! Talk about an amazing band! Our friends and family wont stop talking about how fabulous our wedding was because of Groove Place. - Groove Place was incredible! We heard tons of compliments from our guests. They had people on the dance floor before dinner was even served and they were fantastic at interacting with the crowd. They were very flexible, even playing for an extra hour when asked mid-reception. They managed the set list to keep the crowd dancing plus included our favorite songs in the mix. Dana was super responsive through the planning process; a huge help as we planned our Pennsylvania wedding from Atlanta. I highly recommend Groove Place! - While planning our wedding we knew that having a great band is really the most important aspect of a wedding reception. Groove Place completely exceeded our expectations. They had people on the dance floor all night. I remember looking out at the reception and almost no one was seated at their tables. - Grooveplace made our wedding a huge success! Everyone (even those that don't dance) was on the dance floor from start to finish. - What can I say about Groove Place that would let the next person know just how wonderful they are??? I could sit and write 500 words, or I could just say Groove Place, in my book was "OUTSTANDING" "WONDERFUL" "TALENT" "VOICES", they were the BEST band I have seen in a very long time. - Groove Place had the entire party dancing and we received an overwhelming response from our wedding guests. Everybody LOVED them! - Let me begin by saying that my wife and I are music nerds. Dana and his team were extremely kind and considerate. They offered to let me play a song with the band, learned four songs and helped us craft a set list that hit all the right notes. They sounded as good as or better than any of the bands we ever looked at; and I’m including bands that cost FIVE TIMES as much. Guests remarked how some songs sounded just like the originals and the energy and musicianship were absolutely fantastic. - The Groove Place performed for my nephews wedding this past month. They were absolutely magnificent. A family member said he had not danced in years, but the music moved him to dance. YOU will never regret the decision to have Groove place be a part of your very special day. The food was delicious the Bride was beautiful, but when it was all said and done the one thing that everyone was still talking about was the dancing and the music. Groove Place was truly a gift from the Bride and Groom to all their guest. Thank you Groove Place for the memories our family will cherish for a life time.

- This group was a pleasure to work with from the moment we met. They took our "Havana" theme and hired a few extra singers to create the sound we were looking for. They are flexible and will do what it takes to make your evnt a success. The instrumentalists were absolute professionals and the singers were extremely talented.

- We just had our wedding on the 3rd of Nov 2007, and if it wasn't for Groove Place the 3rd of Nov, would of came and went like any other wedding. Bottom line they made that night kick ass. It is a sight to see when 90% of the guests are up and dancing BEFORE they even got their food. No one had to tell them to get up and dance, they just couldn't resist. Unbelievably friendly, professional, talented, and really just there for you to make it a special night.
