DJ Toujourfresh is not just your typical press play DJ. Born and bred in Brooklyn of Haitian parentage, Toujoursfresh grew up in a time when rap was fresh out the box and where mix tapes ruled the underground. What influenced Toujoursfresh's open format style of DJ'ing is his growing up on all the types of music that reminded him of his Haitian background. Haitian music fuses many different elements and sounds from various genres of music like African rhythm, Latin, jazz, soul, funk and folk music. What Toujourfresh creates with his DJ'ing style is dimension and a mash-up of similar sounds across all genres. His musical tastes were cultivated throughout the era of the hypnotic DJ's on stations like WBLS, Hot 97 and Kiss FM in NYC and musical video revolutions on stations like MTV and VH1. “My taste in music is broad to say the least; just gimme a beat!” says Toujourfresh.
