Shakedown Street

With big thanks to gigmasters, we have been playing for wonderful parties and events over the past few years. This past summer we played for Brown University graduates on the beach in Rhode Island. We also had great fun playing for an MIT fraternity party on their rooftop on Beacon Street in Boston. We have been lucky enough to play at several backyard weddings, bars, birthday parties - you name it.

Shakedown Street is a classic rock band playing hits from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. We have been together for over 11 years. We are also a Grateful Dead cover band. So, you can hire us to be either a Grateful Dead cover band, a classic rock cover band, or, a combination.

We have excellent 2 part harmony vocals so we can rock out to songs like, "Mustang Sally" and "Hang on Sloopy". My current favorite is our jazzy-rock version of, "Love is kinda crazy with a Spooky little girl like you". We have a lead guitarist that rivals the famous guys like Clapton - crowds actually yell for Jim to play on and on as if he were a "guitar hero" (no kidding!). We also have an excellent saxophone player who plays keyboards as well. Rounding out the band are a rhythm guitarist, bassist, and drummer. We can play easily for hours and hours and if you're dancing, we will play the song until you drop! We play the slow ones and good ole rock 'n roll!

• This band is Unreal! Even without their keyboarder/saxaphonist, Shakedown Street shook the whole block from our rooftop. Their jam session was psychedelic, funky, and everything in between.
