Reality Check is a trio from the L.A. area providing dance cover music from the 60's to the present for weddings, adult birthday parties, and other events. Our music is geared towards a dancing audience and includes a wide variety of classic rock, funk, motown, 80's, 90's, and some current hits. We're flexible to play at a small house party for 40 guests or a festival or wedding reception for hundreds of people, as our trio can fit into the smallest backyard patio or banquet room band area, yet fill up a large festival stage as well.

We tailor our setlist for the specific requirements of each gig to ensure optimal satisfaction from you and your guests. We will omit playing certain songs or types of songs to your preference and highlight others. We'll even learn a few special requests before the gig if you don't see them on our current list below, which is not all-inclusive. Some clients have us play an "all 80s", "all 70s", or "all 60s" show and we will even dress in that decade's attire while performing to add to the authenticity of the theme.

The guitarist switches to playing keyboards on several songs. This enables us to play anything from guitar-based songs like "I wanna be sedated" by the Ramones to keyboard-based gems like "Don't you forget about me" by Simple Minds while remaining a trio. We all sing as well, maximizing our song selection possibilities by utilizing the unique vocal ranges of each singer. BOTTOM LINE: YOU CAN HIRE OUR TRIO FOR A LOT LESS THAN A 4- OR 5-PIECE BAND, AND YET YOU WON'T SACRIFICE MUSICAL OR VOCAL QUALITY.

Our band comes fully-equipped with the sound system and lighting. Volume is always kept at a reasonable level. For quieter house parties, the drummer will use brushes instead of sticks to help keep the neighbors down the street happy. We will hook up some background music before we start and on breaks to keep the party atmosphere going at all times. We'll even have an extra mic set up should one of your guests get the urge to sing along with the band.

For wedding receptions, we'll come early to provide the emcee/DJ function from the time the guests arrive to the time the band starts. This includes playing mellow cocktail hour/dinner music from our sound system, then assisting with the toasting and announcements, first dance, cake cutting, throwing of bouquet, etc. We have wireless mics for your use, as well as audio hookup for slide projector audio cables. We can incorporate all styles of songs into the evening's dance music like salsa, disco, big band, hip-hop, etc. by playing it from our sound system when the band takes a break, complementing the mix of pop/rock songs in our band's repertoire. IN SUMMARY, YOU CAN HAVE A LIVE BAND AND A DJ SERVICE FOR YOUR WEDDING RECEPTION FOR ONE AFFORDABLE PRICE.

• Super-nice guys, very energetic and sound great. Put on an awesome show for our party in Hermosa Beach. Showed up early and were set up & ready to go. They were sweaty and wiped-out at the end so you could tell they gave it their all. They have great charisma/stage presence/whatever you call it so they really made it fun for our guests. We had them play all 80's music, and they had quite a deep repertoire of all the hits. I don't know how they have the time to learn them all. They told us they also can do 60's/90's/newer stuff. • The variety of songs they play spans several generations so even Grandad knew some of the songs. My 1 yr old twins kept swinging their feet and waving their arms with big smiles on their faces,they LIKE music. Jeff graciously indulged my wish to sing a few songs myself.
