There are few bands that have the skill and talent to play virtually any musical style effectively like Charlotte, North Carolina's Alternate Take. Alternate Take is a group of four talented musicians that have joined forces to make one of the most impressive bands on the east coast. Each member has played professionally for many years and educational backgrounds include music degrees and Masters degrees. Two of us are perfect pitch, and our rhythmic pocket is perfect for getting people to dance. Not only are we well versed in rock, country, r&b, soul, southern rock, and contemporary party and dance music; but also original, jazz, and classical music. We also realize that being great players is not all it takes to be great entertainers. We engage the audience, take requests, and have fun on stage which is why our audiences enjoy our show.

This is not just your typical wedding or cover band, this group of entertainers can write or perform any style that we listen to. Our harmonies separate us from other groups with three distinct musicians singing lead vocals with uniquely different, yet complimentary styles and each 4 members contributing to vocal harmony. If there is a song you want performed, Alternate Take can probably play it, and if we can't, we'll download it as our dj show is just as strong as our live show. Some of the stages we have played include: Jazz Fest of New Orleans, the Cotton Club of New York, Carnegie Hall, Bobcats Arena, Panther Stadium, to name a few. We've shared the stage with national acts like Ellis Marsalis, Bonnie Raitt, Hootie and the Blowfish, Archie Bell, Starship, Michael Brecker, and many others.

One of the advantages of knowing so many songs and styles is the ability to modify the performance to the mood and occasion at hand. Corporate events, private parties, and festivals are performed with energy, enthusiasm, and style. We customize our shows according to the people we play for; versatility is one of our strongest attributes. We've played a show for a jazz and R&B club one night; then played a biker bar the next where southern rock, country, and classical rock was required, then we had to drive to Charleston for a prom the next day where pop, top 40, and club dj were requested; all three crowds loved the band, most bands can not pull that off.

Although each wedding day is unique, the experience of doing so many helps us to be prepared for anything that might happen. We are all professionals and enjoy doing this type of performance.
