At 6"3' 195lbs brown hair and green eyes; from his cowboy hat, wrangler jeans and boots, he is nothing but country. Hunter A Smith started singing at the age of three in church and radio; began playing the guitar at the age of six and bass guitar by thirteen. In his early teen years Hunter began performing with local band on the South Side of San Antonio, which is where he was raised. From the age of seventeen to twenty six, Hunter worked alongside the Misty Blue Band, Texas Road Fever, Jim Trahan, and Jimmy Peterson. In 1996 Hunter co wrote "A Life Time thing" with Lee Bogan and signed a single song contract with Joe Diffie Publishing. The same year Hunter opened for Ken Mullins, David Prizzell, Johnny Pay Check, John Anderson and Merle Haggard. In 1997 Hunter moved back to Texas and returned to playing in and around the San Antonio area. In 2001 Hunter opened at the Double K Ranch Amphitheater located in lytle, TX. At this venue he brought in Frenchie Burke. In 2005 Hunter returned to Nashville, Tennessee where he reunited with an old friend and recorded his first CD titled" Hot Little Number" which was followed by God Next Miracle and Oh Boogeloo; all of which were played on radio across the country. A serious accident in late 2007 put Hunter out of commission for two years however he continued promoting his CD. In 2009 Hunter started reforming his band and returned to playing locally and has returned to the studio to record his new song titled "Pretty Senorita. Hunter and his band, the South Texas Boys opened for Rick Trevino at the Grand located in Beeville, TX. We look forward to providing the entertainment for your upcoming events.

Anniversary PartyReviewed on May 11, 2015From San Antonio, TX

Absolutely great! Hunter and the South Texas Boys were a big hit. I don't have the words to praise them adequately. They made our celebration a huge success.

ConcertReviewed on December 9, 2013From San Antonio, TX

The Hunter A. Smith band was beyond professionals in every way. They were ultimate performers, and very flexible to our last minute needs. By far one of the best country bands in the San Antonio area if not the entire state of Texas. Hunter himself was very easy to get along with, great guy and great singer. I just found out that the performance was not only a hit in my eyes but everyone else thought so as well, because they got listed in a state wide newspaper thanking the band for a great performance. Again, hats off to the band and a great performance.
