Description
Susan Freeman is a stand-up comedian who travels the world to bring healing and growth through laughter. Her philosophy about comedy is simple: "the truth doesn't have to hurt; it's also not G-rated." Her PG-13 show is not crude, but her blatant honesty about real-life topics is not for children. Freeman jokes primarily about family, relationships, career, aging, sex, drugs, dysfunction & recovery.
Freeman dropped out of high school, then became a high school teacher; she owned & operated two businesses, then became a business broker; she was almost hospitalized for a public speaking panic attack, then became a comedian. Her explanation? "Life's full of hurdles: sometimes we're stopped by them, which is sad; sometimes we leap over them, which is great; I frequently trip over them – that's just funny."
Freeman was a finalist in the 2007 Oklahoma's Funniest Person Contest, and a semifinalist in the 2009 Gulf South Comedy Challenge. In 2009, she was featured in Tulsa People Magazine. In 2010, Freeman's tour went international when she entertained troops in Kuwait and Iraq. She is currently planning her September 2011 United Kingdom Tour.
