Toby Taught Theater Arts at Denison University, NYU,Jefferson College Toby was in on the founding of the most famous and original Clown College. In fact, Toby's father, Bill Ballantine was the founder of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey's Clown College. Toby attended and graduated from Clown College, working for many seasons with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus! Toby is a "REAL CIRCUS" clown, a master of his craft.
He has performed in major circuses around the world, on TV, in Theaters, Parks, picnics,and private partys!!
Circus acts stay in the family. Toby's Father was a professional circus clown too! Bill Ballantine was with the old time Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, touring "under canvas".
Toby's show keeps kids interested and laughing. He brings: Balloons, Magic, Juggling, Painting, puppetry, big nose, big shoes, big hair, big laughs! A solid professional comic with all the gags and fun to back it up.

First, what is close-up magic?
Close-up magic happens right in front of the audience, it is magic people can not only see but feel and touch. This intimacy is what makes it such a unique form of entertainment and so different from stage and cabaret magic. The impossible becomes more than possible,then it actually happens, before your very eyes, maybe even in your hands!
Close-up magic involves more audience participation than almost any other form of entertainment - the audience is right next to and directly involved with the performance of the magician.

"All kids loved him. He is very friendly, funny and nice person. Your presentation was wonderful, he did things with balloons, painted the faces of children on the anniversary of my son 4 years. "He was very professional, all thirty kids loved him, and so did all fifteen parents. Toby was a big hit at my seven year olds bday party. all the kids were takin pics and spending alot of time with toby although there was a pool and a huge bouncy house.i would definetly reccomend Toby to anyone who wants alot of fun and clownin around at thier next party or get together. he was very punctual. got there on time, and was very organized and even stayed longer to take pics and finish up balloons & facepaintin so Thanx TOBY "

"We loved the show that Toby the clown performed for our Daughters 3rd birthday . he was funny and very warm towards the children and our daughter . His tricks and acts were great and the kids loved the face painting . Wonderful clown highly recommend Toby for all parties .

"Toby gave a performance that made our party extra special. We had a 70th anniversary party for our parents and there were lots of great grandchildren there. Not only did Toby entertain the kids before dinner, but the adults loved watching him too. And then after dinner, long after Toby left, the kids were still playing with all the balloon hats, belts, swords, or whatever Toby had made for them. One little girl was showing everyone her invisible ball inside the paper bag that Toby gave her. Our party was a tremendous success and I have to give Toby all the credit in the world for making it extra special. Toby is a fabulous clown and we are so glad we found him"

"The Mime and the Magician/Juggler were great! They mingled with the kids, got in pictures and were a joy to have at the party. They really "made" the party from the very beginning - everyone knew they were going to have a good time. The Mime greeted everyone coming in and the magician/juggler (Toby) was excellent keeping the kids occupied, interested and happy. I was very pleased. "

"Toby did a great job for our 4-year old's birthday party. It was a hot outdoor venue in Tampa and he handled it like a pro. I was really impressed that he did not want a deposit ahead of time. He arrived early, and he greeted each guest personally as they arrived. From there he transitioned nicely to his full act. He was able to keep the parents entertained while simultaneously keeping the 4 year old's captivated. His balloon twisting was a hit, and a good finale. He kept the kids so busy with the stage act that the parents were able to visit and relax amongst themselves, which was really nice! We would recommend him highly. Matt Taylor"

"I would like to thank Toby for the perfect performance at my son's birthday party. The children ranged from age 1-9 and he was perfectly entertaining for all of them. He arrived early to the party, gave special attention not only to my son, the birthday boy, but to every child present and was courteous and professional with all interactions. One little boy who was deathy afraid of clowns prior to the party left saying, "That was a nice clown, I liked him!" Well done Toby! I would recommend you to all of my friends!

"Toby Circus Ballantine gave us a great entertainment at our birthday party for our small daughters.
There were lots of young children (ages from 2-5) and he knew exactly what to do to make them laugh. We got lots of complainments during his show and people were asking me about his phone number.
I would highly recommend Toby Circus Ballantine for any party.
He is very professional and does a great job!!!

"Toby did a fantastic job! We had a birthday party for our 5 year old and nearly 40 children were in attendance. Toby was on-time and very organized. He immediately gathered the children and began to interact with each of them. The magic was impressive, the face painting was very artistic, but most of all, his attitude and professionalism warmed the hearts of children and parents alike. We HIGHLY recommend Toby to entertain and will certainly use him again in the future. Thanks Toby!"

"He arrived on time and had bags and bags of props for his act. He was great with the kids, was very funny and very professional. We agreed that he would get a 10 min break between acts up front, he did not even get a chance to take the break and even ended 15 mins past the time we booked, there were no additional charges and he did it all with a smile on his face. I would hire him again. Ballantine is very talented and the kids at my daughters party could not get enough of his balloon animals. He is worth every single penny. You will not be disappointed. Once again, Thank You Ballantine for a great gig!!!!!!!!!!! "

"Toby was the life of my 6 year old's Birthday party! He was excellent and all the kids really enjoyed him! He stayed until every last child got facepainted even running 20 minutes after! We were a little worried because sometimes kids are scared of clowns but none of the kids at our party were scared at all! We had 2-15 year olds there. It was a 95 degree day here in Florida & that didn't seem to bother Toby either! We just made sure he had lots of water & he did great! I would would hire Toby again so I def. would recommend him!"

"I am so happy with Toby the clown. He was right on time & the kids & ADULTS had so much fun. He worked so hard. We could see that he is really really really good at what he does. He did several things, so he was able to keep the kids attention for a long long time (the whole time he was there actually). He is so affordable, best price i found. Everyone keeps calling after the party just to tell us what an amazing time they and their kids had. I can't say enough about how happy we are with Toby. The adults loved him, the kids loved him, we loved him and I can say we will never have a party without hiring him again. "
