About
Hi. I'm a professional classical guitarist available for weddings, rehearsal dinners, receptions, dinner parties, corporate events and more. Since earning my masters degree in classical guitar from UT at Austin in 1995, I've played for hundreds of events around the Houston area and throughout Texas. I've also played with the Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera, Texas Music Festival Orchestra, and many other groups. I'm very dependable, professional, friendly and experienced. I'm known for a
broad repertoire of music that spans the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods, as well as arrangements of popular American standards, Latin and Spanish pieces and even Beatles and Led Zeppelin songs. I lightly amplify my guitar when needed so your guests can hear me at a comfortable level. My attire can be a tuxedo, coat and tie or casual, whatever fits your event.

"WOW! Mark was a class act! He did an amazing job! I even requested him to play a song to accompany my cousin while she was singing- he had not heard the song before, learned it, and played it flawlessly at the wedding. "We actually never had a chance to meet Mark on our wedding day, b/c we were busy running around, but throughout the planning process (email and phone), Mark was attentive & patient. I wanted to be sure that the version of Canon in D that he played for my walk down the aisle matched what I'd imagined, and he adjusted his version to exactly what I was looking for. He also walked me through how to isolate each "variation" in the song, so that every piece that I loved was included. We received multiple compliments from guests re: Mark's talent and versatility during the cocktail hour, and could not have been happier. I want to plan another party just to hire him again!"
