One of Boston's premier pianists, Ken Watson provides music for social events of all types - wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, dinner parties. He loves to perform and delights in being among those who love piano music.
Ken's repertoire includes American and popular standards and Broadway favorites as well as more contemporary artists, including the Beatles, Elton John, Billy Joel, Journey, Sting, Buffet, the Eagles, Morrison, Clapton, Garth Brooks, Rascal Flats, Ben Folds and many others. Ken also is constantly mastering and performing classical pieces. He has long entertained at holiday parties and has compiled arrangements of carols and holiday songs. He has played for many holiday party sing-alongs.
For decades Ken has played at venues in and around Boston, including the Sheraton Tara Framingham, Seaport Hotel, The Four Seasons, the Commandant's House, the Long Wharf Marriott Hotel, the Commonwealth Hotel, the College Club, the Boston College Club, the Boston University Castle, the Hyatt, Marriott and Hilton Hotels, Boston World Trade Center, the Seaport Hotel, the State Room, the Boston Harbor Hotel, and many other city and area hotels. He has played throughout New England at venues such as Granite Links, the Henderson House, the Aldrich Mansion, the Blithewold Mansion, Lake View Pavillion, Lake Pearl, Spenelli's, Mount Washington Hotel, the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport, the Riverview in Simsbury, CT, and many banquet halls, inns, and private homes throughout the region.
Ken is a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory of Music in Winchester, Virginia. He was the last pianist for the WBZ/CBS4 Children's Hospital Telethon, held annually during the holidays years ago. Ken has been a long-time music teacher and accompanist to many accomplished soloists and instrumentalists.
Ken can bring up to three of his professional quality Yamaha digital pianos to any venue where an acoustic piano is not available. At a wedding, for example, he can set up one piano for the ceremony, another for the cocktail hour, and another in the dinner area. He also provides a microphone when needed.
Ken has complimentary demo CDs available. More than forty years of experience and a youthful passion for the piano make Ken Watson a natural performer and a good choice for your event.

"It was an absolute pleasure to have Ken perform for us for a small family birthday party. We had requested he play a few special songs, which he did at the perfect moments. He is an elegant and charming performer, but he was also fun and spontaneous enough to accompany four children singing and dancing to a special song they wanted to perform! Despite a snow storm, Ken arrived at our home on time, cheerful and ready to play. He was so accommodating of our every request - including playing at two different houses (both on the same street), so my sister and I could co-host the party! I would hire Ken again. His music truly made the party an unforgettable evening!"

"Ken was great, professional and talented. He played through the evening and everyone commented about how nice it was to have someone providing such lovely music. Many of the guests ended up singing along. One of my friends is a professional cabaret singer from NYC and she offered to sing 3 numbers as a surprise to my husband. Unfortunately, Ken was not able to play her music so that was a disappointment. However, I guess it was not familiar to him and, in his defense, it might have been frustrating to try and learn new music in that setting and not adequately provide a good accompaniment for her. We were very happy in any event and he was just great."

"This was a lovely party and I really enjoyed playing the wonderful Steinway piano. And the guests who sang along over the last hour were such fun! Great voices! I was also disappointed that the professional cabaret singer did not perform that evening. I was certainly able to play her music. I am a good sight-reader and have accompanied many professional singers, often on very short notice. This was nothing new. What I told the singer was that it might not be a polished performance on my part because it was my first time seeing the music. She then decided that she would not sing. She said, “You don’t know my music.” But I was able to play the music. I didn't say no. "

"Overall, the experience was excellent. I felt bad that I was not present when he first showed up but upon my arrival there was wonderful music being played.
