If you are reading this you are probably thinking of hiring a guitarist or classical guitarist for a wedding or event, but there are many classical guitarists on this site, and they all sound good, so how do you choose? As nice as it might be to a have a classical guitarist for your event, you may not be sure about having ALL classical music. For instance, maybe classical music for your wedding ceremony, but contemporary/pop instrumentals for the cocktail hour may work better, or possibly you're not exactly sure what style you want to commit to at this point. If this is the case, I may be the right musician for you. In conjunction to a set of classical music, I also have a few hours worth of pop and non classical music, not just a few token pop tunes. It's not uncommon for someone to hire me to play classical music for a wedding ceremony, and then change their mind and decide to go with a mix of classical and pop, or even all pop tunes. One thing to note is that I also play a steel string guitar which has more sparkle to the tone, instead of a classical or nylon string guitar, which is why I have a little different, or contemporary sound. If you read through a few reviews you may notice a reoccurring comment, "Don was very professional and very easy to work with," or "Don made the whole experience much less stressful." If you're planning an event, especially a wedding, you definitely don't want to be worrying about, or babysit, your vendors. I always arrive early to set up and sound check, and am dressed and ready to go at least a half hour before I start to play. I use two separate sound systems if I have to play a wedding ceremony and cocktail hour at different locations, so transition is quick and seamless. I've played hundreds of weddings and can help guide you and offer musical suggestions. I'd be happy to meet with you and go over ceremony music, and I can always work up an arrangement of a special song that you always envisioned being played as you walked down the aisle.
