As professional guitarist for 30+ years, I offer a wide range of musical styles for a moment in time that you and your guests will remember for a lifetime. Having earned my master's degree in classical guitar performance from UNT, I play the standard guitar repertoire including the music of Bach, Tarrega, Albeniz, Barrios, Sor, Guiliani, Mertz, Schubert and Pachelbel for the classical sound that purists desire. If you prefer something more in line with your individual tastes, then I also play jazz standards from composers like Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Henry Mancini and George Gershwin and even classic rock tunes by Led Zepplin, Eric Clapton and the Beatles. Whatever the event, I will mix the music to meet your discriminating needs. From intimate dinner parties to lavish weddings, private birthday parties to grand openings, my music will provide you with the ambiance you seek. I will work hard to guarantee your satisfaction.
A look at my play list will reveal an extensive array of music available, including many classical favorites along with many contemporary tunes. And yes, I can play many of those Spanish and Latin favorites such as Ponce's “Estrellita,” the ever popular “Spanish Romance,” Albeniz's “Leyenda” and Tarrega's “Recuerdos de la Alhambra”. If you don't see your favorite song listed, don't worry, I have an extensive guitar library that probably has your favorite classical or Latin solo in it.
If your taste leans more toward the contemporary genres, I have created sophisticated solo arrangements for numerous clients over the years from artists such as Norah Jones, Billy Joel, Kenny Chesney and even bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Just provide me with the artist and the title of the song and I will use my expertise in music theory and arranging for the guitar to create a unique arrangement that you and your guests will surely enjoy.
Having the right equipment allows me to play any venue, from garden weddings where electricity is unavailable to large auditoriums. I even bring my own chair so you don't have to worry about anything. Never will the music be overbearing but mixed just right to provide you with the atmosphere that guarantees that your satisfaction.

"Dressed in coat and tie, set up early, playing when guests first started arriving, excellent musicianship, perfect set list, personable, polite, excellent communicator. Bruce was perfect for our elegant event at The Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed his music and had many glowing remarks about his talent. I was especially thankful he performed as expected, even the volume was appropriate. He also let us use his sound system during toasting while he had dinner. I would highly recommend this mature and talented performer."

"BRUCE WAS WONDERFUL! My husband and I planned our Austin wedding from New York, so we put a lot of faith in online reviews. Gig Masters led us to Bruce, who we corresponded with for months leading up to our wedding. Bruce was very responsive and easy to work with. He gave us great feedback to our questions and song choices for our ceremony and cocktail hour. I'll never forget walking down the aisle with my dad and hearing the beautiful guitar serenade, and our guests LOVED the cocktail music selection (samba and other Latin music). Bruce truly made our wedding a very romantic and memorable day. We cannot recommend him enough to make your wedding/event very special!"

"Bruce Canafax was wonderful for my wedding ceremony. He was very accommodating to my personal wishes such as a different song for when I walked down the aisle. All of a sudden I just ask if he could use a song and he did a wonderful job. There were so many people from the wedding who loved the music and said he did a great job! I would highly recommend Bruce Canafax for a wedding. It was an outdoor wedding and the atomsphere was so pretty and Bruce Canafax made it even better with his lovely music. "

"Bruce was absolutely wonderful! He performed the music for both the cocktail hour and ceremony at mywedding. Despite the short two-month period from the time I booked Bruce to the day of the wedding, the Pink Floyd song I requested as the bridal processional and the recessional piece (which I gave to him three days prior to the ceremony) could not have been performed better. He is the perfect calm, collected and professional individual that any bride (or party-giver) needs in the moment of chaos--he knew exactly what to do and how to make my wedding dream a reality. My husband and I HIGHLY recommend Bruce! "

"Mr. Canafax arrived early to set up and was flexible and accomodating with our needs. Our guests were very impressed with his repertoire and several asked me about him, i.e., where we had "found him," etc. His music and his presence were exactly what we were hoping they would be for this particular event. I can promise, if we have another need for a musician at one of our functions, we will certainly contact Bruce. He is very professional and more importantly, very talented."

"Bruce communicated well with me prior to the event and reassured me that he would be dependable and professional. He was already there and set-up when I arrived. He even offered to help me with a microphone when my AV people did not arrive on time. He had what I needed and calmed my anxiety.nthe music was exactly what I'd hoped for at this event. it set the mood and was the appropriate volume to allow conversation. I am so pleased with his performance and professionalism and will book him again!

"Bruce was terrific to work with from the very first email contact all the way through his beautiful romantic performances at our daughter's wedding. Anyone looking for the ultimate professional and exquisite musician, you should Bruce Canafax. "

"I scheduled Bruce as a gift for my son's wedding. Then I turned over the music choice and planning to my son. The problem was that the bride and groom had trouble deciding on songs. Bruce talked with them several times and was very patient. He made suggestions and posted sample songs on his website. The final decisions were not made until less than two weeks before the wedding.
Bruce arrived with plenty of time to set up. He entertained guests before the ceremony and then moved to the cocktail area. He played a beautiful mix of classical, Spanish and contemporary songs. He was a perfect compliment to the event without becoming a distraction. Thank you Bruce!"
