Description

Versatility: We can give you classical, jazz, popular, rhythm and blues/soul, and originals in a variety of different combos (flute, sax, voice with guitar; or flute, sax, voice with piano. We can also add bass and drums). Vicki is a classically trained opera singer and flute player who also plays alto sax and bass. Sandy graduated from the San Francisco Conservatory with a degree in classical guitar and also plays electric guitar and bass. We appear as a duo on voice and guitar performing a wide variety of material: classical, religious, and operatic pieces; Broadway tunes, songs in Russian, French, Italian, Spanish; and jewish, Irish, jazz, and popular songs. We also play flute and guitar music from the Renaissance, Baroque, classical, and modern eras, as well as popular, Latin, and jazz (either with the flute or the sax and guitar). We also play our own songs; we have written over 40 songs together that have a folk/world beat/jazz feel to them. We have 3 cd's released of our original songs.
The piano player is Rita Lackey, who is also an accomplished singer who specializes in rhythm and blues and jazz.
We will meet, email, or talk by phone with you to plan the songlist for your event, either from your requests or you can just give us an idea of the styles you like and we can put it together for you to approve. You can be as involved as much or as little as you like in the specific song choices, and we are happy to learn new songs for you if they are not already in our repertoire. We can play unamplified or we can bring along our compact, high-quality sound system.
People love the variety of our sets, & we are very good at creating an ambience at parties and events: lively, calm, danceable, whatever you like.
Lots of possibilities, let's discuss.
Thank you for considering us.

Feedback

  • An excellent performance from two polished, affable highly talented musicians. Ms. Trent is an accomplished flutist, and sensitive vocalist; Ms. Brassard's professional mastery of guitar is impressive. Our members were lavish in their praise for this outstanding eclectic performance, ranging from Bach to Bizet, with folk, classical, opera, flamenco, pop, and an original piece. Vicki sang in 4 languages with precision and beauty. We recommend Trent and Brassard to anyone who wants top-notch music performed by an experienced professional duo with a wide-ranging repertoire and engaging personality. -- Dr. Miriam E, Santa Cruz, CA, 10/18/2009
