Description

The Judson-Tyler Duo (Zachary Judson Selissen and Michael Tyler Roberts) combines concert hall caliber performance with top-notch client communication and attention to detail. We're here to enliven your event with music, and we handle every step of the process with care.

Our fluency in a variety of styles--classical, jazz, ragtime, Latin and Spanish music, even a little rock when we're feeling saucy--makes us extremely flexible. We'll work with you to find the musical blend that perfectly suits your event.

Here's an example: we often play classical music for a wedding ceremony, then make a quick switch to jazz for the reception. It's like a string quartet and a jazz combo, all in one compact (and if we do say so ourselves, exceedingly handsome) two-man, two-guitar package.

We may be biased, but we believe that two guitars make the perfect ensemble: all the harmonic fullness of a string quartet combined with the subtle and unique beauty of the classical guitar.

A little more about us:
Mike and Zac joined forces in 2006 as graduate students at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. We discovered not only a shared history as electric guitar-wielding classic rockers who developed a passion for the classical guitar, but also a common interest in a wide range of music, from jazz to tango to the Baroque. We possess a growing body of original compositions and arrangements, and frequently incorporate improvisation into our repertoire. We maintain a standing date at Cafe Divine in San Francisco's North Beach, on the final Thursday of every month--a good opportunity to see us strut our stuff. (Dates are subject to change, so please contact us in advance if you're planning to come.)

We are seasoned veterans of both concerts and private events, from block parties to corporate cocktail parties to weddings, and we look forward to bringing our music to yours!
