Rebecca Hawkins Project “Rockin” Gospel Blues music evokes images and emotions from Southern old time revivals with a new twist, and has the true Rockin’-Blues aficionados celebrating. The sound is a cross between the Bonnie Raitt and Janis Joplin, while Rebecca’s energetic stage presence get the audience movin’ and singin’ to the music.
RHP has taken their music and message to the world famous, Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood California, the renowned Coach House, in San Juan Capistrano California, and for festivals and fairgrounds. She has showcased at many special musical events, such as, The Temecula Gospel Fest 08, the North American Christian Convention at Crossroads Church in Corona California, and the "Battle of the Bands" for Spirit West Cost in Del Mar California. Her music has been a blessing to many.
Rebecca has recieved recognition for her musical talent and songwriting. She was awarded semi-finalist winner for the Christian / Faith Category in the UK Songwriting Contest for four of her songs, "Let Your Love Reign," "Hope is Gone," "Tappin' The Source," and "Gethsemane." These song were carefully examined by expert music industry judges and they have awarded Rebecca Hawkins these recognitions for participating in the contest in 2009 and for contributing to its continued success as a leading international annual songwriting event.
Rebecca's song "Let Your Love Reign" was awarded "Honorable Mention" in the 16th annual Billboard World Song Contest. Jim Halsey, President, of Billboard Awards, wrote only the highest quality songs make it to the top. This honor demonstrates the talent and dedication it takes to write a "Hit Song." Rebecca continues to write music that has an impact in the music industry.
Rebecca's sultry voice and siren vocals call and draw the listener into her music, celebrating a new life recovered from the world. Rebecca’s latest project “Tappin’ The Source”, is introspective and examines an individual’s hurts, habits, and hang–ups communicated with strong powerful words, harmonies, and rhythms. Rebecca’s music reflects her life experiences.
Rebecca has performed and collaborated with many artists over the years in music. Recently, she worked with Dwayne Larring, a founding member of Sonic Flood, for the Tappin’ the Source project, and with Wanda Obermeier, a gifted singer and songwriter, who contributed to the Tappin' the Source project with her song, "I Met Jesus" where Rebecca put her own touch to the recording. Rebecca has appeared on stage with Union of Saints, The Kry, Band of Heros, Charles Graham, Immersed, Gwyn Sanborn, and also opened for gospel groups such as, The Vintage Gospel Lads, The Watchman and The Gospel Truth Quartet.
