Pipe Major of the Highland Light Scottish Pipe Band, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Past Pipe major of the Brian Boru Pipe Band, Falmouth Massachusetts.
I have been performing solo on the bagpipes since 2001, and a solo competitor in the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association contests since 2002. I have competed in the EUSPBA, the Southern United States Pipe Band Association, the Atlantic Canada Pipe Band Association, and the Irish Pipe Band Association. Competing against other high level pipers helps me to keep my skills sharp, and become a better musician. Engagements, competitions, as well as education in this country, Canada, Scotland and Ireland, have all contributed to my piping skills. I have participated in workshops and schools from Canada to Florida, from Cape Cod to Kansas City, Scotland and Ireland.

"Sheldon was absolutely terrific! He was prompt, courteous, witty, charming and engaging. The guests at the party were completely enrapt by Sheldon's performance. The range of selections he played was fantastic and his anecdotes about the instrument were totally enjoyable. My father, who is Scottish, had tears of joy in his eyes from Sheldon's performance, and my dad does not cry easily. I would highly recommend Sheldon. "I hired Pipe Major Sheldon C. Hamblin to play at my wife's 50th birthday party held at The Beechwood Hotel in Worcester, MA. She loves the bagpipes and is interested in her Scottish heritage. Her family and close friends were in attendance. Everyone was so impressed by his knowledge of the bagpipes, and how he presented it in such an interesting and thoroughly enjoyable way. He was dressed in full Classic Scottish Piper attire. It made for a very classy affair. I couldn't have been more pleased!"

"Mr. Hamblin provided the perfect pipe music for our wedding and was great (easy) to work with! The music was exactly wht we asked for and then some, and my Scottish father leaned over right before we walked down the aisle and said 'my dad would have loved this!'
Mr. Hamblin even had to deal with our pain of an event planner at the venue, and did so well with this that I didn't even know there was a problem. :)

"Sheldon was awesome! There were a dozen or so people at our party and everyone thoroughly enjoyed not only his performance, but his knowledge of Scottish and Irish history as it relates to bagpiping. My son couldn't have been more surprised and was so pleased, the smile on his faced lasted for some time. Sheldon also provided Sean with Scottish catalogs which Sean has been devouring. Some relatives were skeptical about my having a bagpiper for a child's party, but when they left they agreed it was wonderful and were very pleased by Sheldon's music and performance."
