Description

Since 1986 I've performed at a wide range of venues, pleasing a diverse range of audiences. These performances have included weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate gatherings, military dining-ins, graduations, birthday parties, anniversary parties, processions, parades, school assemblies, church services, memorials and funerals. In addition to many event performances, I am a regular solo competitor at highland games throughout the East Coast and have won prizes in both light music and piobaireachd (the classical music of the highland bagpipe).

In addition to the Great Highland Bagpipe, I also play small pipes which feature a mellow, softer tone suited to certain performance spaces. Several of my sound samples were made on the small pipes.

I will tailor the performance to suit the needs of the client. In addition to a wide repertoire of Scottish and Irish tunes, I have often performed special pieces of music not originally composed for the bagpipe such as: The Cornell University Fight Song – “High above Cayuga’s Waters,” “Kannon in D” by Johann Pachelbel, Wagner’s “Bridal Chorus”, “Theme From Star Wars,” and Jimmy Buffet’s “Margaritaville” to name a few.

I am available, often on short notice, throughout the Baltimore-Washington metro area, as well as Pennsylvania, Delaware and Virginia. Contact me to find out how I can make your next event one to remember.

Feedback

  • Mr. Cora played the bagpipes for my July 2008 wedding. He was so sweet and accomodating throughout the whole process. We ended up changing the time of our ceremony, he changed his hours to work with ours as well, which was above and beyond what was required of him. He helped us choose music, and gave us recommendations for a recessional song. Our guests we moved and impressed by his performance, as was I. I am so glad we chose Mr. Cora for our wedding. -- Rebekah K, Lancaster, PA, 7/5/2008
  • Paul B. Cora was hired for my step fathers memorial because he had asked to have a bag piper play amazing grace at his memorial when he passed. Paul B. Cora did an absolute wonderful job and it open the ceremony with just the right touch! I would highly recommend him to anyone wishing to hire a professional bag piper. -- Beth Y, Columbia, MD, 4/20/2008
  • Paul was absolutely fantastic. I have received so many compliments on his performance and I would recommend him in a heartbeat. He was very responsive and super accomodating! -- Marcy H, Baltimore, MD, 4/12/2008
  • Paul B. Cora was on time ,played the kind of music that I asked for, and showed great social skill in accomadating the "speakers" among our friends, and in speaking with guests who asked him questions.Having a piper, at all,was a good choice , and he was great. Terry Dymski -- Terrance D, Towson, MD, 7/21/2007
  • Mr. Cora was extremely polite and professional. His appearance and sound were the paradigm of what a piper should be. I highly recommend him for any event. -- Chris B, Quantico, VA, 7/17/2007
