About

Jessica has spent 6 years in a few of the nation's most prestigious music conservatories, where she's played alongside the most talented musicians of those schools. When she plays in duos, trios, or quartets she assures you that she only plays with these highly talented and trained musicians with whom she's worked with on many occasions.

Jessica studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Peabody Conservatory to complete a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance, and at the Hartt School completing a Master of Music in Cello Performance. While at Hartt she was one of two cellists in the full scholarship prestigious chamber music program, Performance 20/20. Jessica's principal cello teachers include Susan Mayo, Dr. Andrew Kolb, Jeffrey Lastrapes, Alison Wells, and Mihai Tetel. During various summer music festivals Jessica has studied with Wesley Baldwin, Matt Haimovitz, Melissa Kraut, Thomas Landschoot, and Richard Weiss. As a chamber musician, Jessica has studied with Michael Kannen, Maria Lambros, Peter Salaff, Mari Sato, Alison Wells, Robert Black, Margreet Francis, Steve Larson, the Cleveland Quartet, the Lion's Gate Trio, and the Brentano String Quartet.

Jessica is currently a member of the One World Symphony in New York City and a member in the Brooklyn Conservatory Community Orchestra in Brooklyn. At the Hartt School she served as principal cellist and played the intensive cello solo in John Corigliano's First Symphony. She has been a member of several orchestras and ensembles, including Hartford Independent Chamber Orchestra, the Generous Ensemble, the Nutmeg Symphony Orchestra, the New Britain Symphony Orchestra, the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, the Quartz Mountain Chamber Orchestra, and the Newton Mid-Kansas Symphony Orchestra. As the winner of the Anderson Concerto Competition she performed the Boccherini cello concerto with the Hutchinson Symphony.

Passionate about inspiring musical interest in the next generation of musicians as well as adults, Jessica is an active cello teacher. She enjoys her position as cello instructor at the British International School of New York as well as maintaining a private studio.

Jessica is originally from Kansas and moved to Brooklyn, New York in the fall of 2012. She is really enjoying her time in the big city continuing her love of chamber music, contemporary music, performance, teaching and creative collaborative projects.
