Dan Springer

Dan Springer is an award winning caricaturist and artist who graduated from the prestigious
Rhode Island School of Design, where he received his
BFA in Illustration in 1991. Since then, he has done
freelance illustration for various publications, including
"The New York Times", "The Village Voice", and "Avenue"
magazine.
He also showed at numerous galleries and clubs,
including "The Society of Illustrators", "Faces and Names", (159 W. 54th St.), and
"Rumours" (8th Ave. & 55th St.) where he has permanent
exhibitions. He has also done live caricatures at "Faces
and Names" since they opened; about 13 years ago.
He has worked as a live caricature artist for the past 19
years, including work at Six Flags-Great Adventure and has
done caricatures in Central Park, NYC for about 13 years.
Dan is a recognized professional and member of the
International Society of Caricatures Artists and has recently won the award for second place in Portfolio of the Year for 2010 from the ISCA's annual Convention in Las Vegas.

• Dan reached out to me prior to the event to finalize the details. He was at the venue early to ensure he was setup and ready for when guests arrived. Dan was very accommodating. He was asked to stay an extra hour and was happy to do so. We were very please with the drawings as were our guests. We would not only recommend him to our friends but would love to have him back at future events. • Dan drew caricatures for my niece's Sweet Sixteen party and not only was he professional and diligent in all his initial contact and preparation but he arrived promptly and went right to work. • Dan was wonderful. He showed up early (which put me at ease since there were 100 people coming and a lot of little details to pull off) and ready to work. He is very talented and everyone - including all of my artist friends were impressed!! We did have what could have been a real problem which was that Dan and I miscommunicated on the length of time each caricature would take so that is something you'll want to discuss in detail so that no one is disappointed. We worked it out and Dan worked for nearly 5 hours with just one short break. We really appreciated that!!
