"Drawing a caricature of someone is drawing that persons unique song."
When not drawing, James can be found in the waters off of the Santa Barbara and Los Angeles coastline, trying his best to communicate with the dolphins. So far they just squeak and smile.
James can draw on any size paper, however, his preferred format is 11" x 14" acid-free 70 lb. high quality drawing paper. After capturing the personality of his subject doing his or her favorite hobby or in his or her favorite setting in a fun cartoon portrait, the unique artwork is placed in a clear, flat protective plastic bag. Very large caricatures
on a stand up Easel can also be done at a specific rate.
James can draw people in 1-5 minutes per person depending on detail. The face alone usually only takes around a minute then the rest of the scene is drawn. Add to that switching seats for the next person , showing and handing the drawing over once it's in a protective clear plastic flat bag, the people sitting getting adjusted/communicating with guests around =Per hour James draws at least 12-15 flattering, detailed, black and white full body people with front view and a theme an hour, or up to 18-25 people an hr with head and shoulders in black and white. James draws with his own very fast flattering style using a fade proof non toxic faber-castell pitt brush pen for aesthetically pleasing line and graphite stick for volume/form/shading, (not the typical and often unflattering often seen style), Color is also available but slows the process by half. The request of drawing live caricatures digitally can also be met at a specific rate.
Quotes on Illustration for personal use, advertisements, cards, gift caricatures etc are on a per job bases. Images can be created by specific demand whether for character design, or caricature from specifics and or photos e-mailed.
Please e-mail James for more samples , specifics, or commissioned Caricature info.
