Where are you looking to hire a Brazilian Band?
With both Spanish and Portuguese roots, native Brazilian music sounds a great deal like
a combination of jazz and the Macarena. Depending on the genre of the Brazilian band, you'll find
inflections of reggae, smooth melodies reminiscent of the artist Sade, or heavy rhythms much like
those found in Latin cultures. With a samba beat or smooth bossa nova melody, Brazilian bands are
famous for getting the audience involved in the music. Performers including Sergio Mendes have even
crossed over onto the Billboard Top 40. But the most popular Brazilian song of all time is still
"The Girl from Ipanema" originally recorded in the early 1960s. With steel drums, saxophones,
guitars and other instruments, Brazilian bands usually require a rather large stage setup that is
quite impressive. If space is limited, check with each band to see what types of arrangements can
be made. Whether large or small, one thing is certain, Brazilian music always inspires a shuffle or
sway from the crowds in attendance. |
