Description

Based in central NJ, the Mojo Gypsies play a highly danceable blend of West Coast- and Chicago-style blues and old-school R&B, featuring songs from the repertoire of the late, great Ray Charles, Louis Jordan, T-Bone Walker, Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson, B.B. King, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Little Charlie, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Frank Sinatra, as well as original material in the same spirit.

Formed in 2002 by veterans of several regional blues bands, the Mojo Gypsies feature Guy DeRosa on harp, Jeff "Flourtown Fats" Michael on the upright bass, Mark Shewchuk on drums, and Dave "The Professor" Orban on guitar and vocals. Our performances are energetic and crowd-pleasing, yet we are consistently able to maintain reasonable volume levels, perfect for corporate events and dining venues.

So if you're looking for a refreshing, upbeat twist on the blues and old-school R&B, look no further... the Mojo Gypsies will deliver!

P.S. Our "song list," which appears below, is a partial listing. If you've got something in mind that you don't see hear, just ask... we probably play it. And, if you've got something special in mind, let us know... we're always happy to learn new tunes!

Feedback

  • I can not express enough how much we enjoyed the Mojo Gypsies who performed at our recent Oktoberfest party. They were on time, professional, fun, and their music rocked! We had about 80 people at our party and every one of them commented on how good the music was and that the band really knew how to get a party going. Thanks for the terrific music and entertainment Dave and band! It made for a special night. Highly recommend Mojo Gypsies for your next party! -- Michael B, Yardley, PA, 10/1/2011
  • The Mojo Gypsies provided the perfect atmosphere for our BBQ in a Barn wedding. They were all extremely professional and talented and left a great impression on all of our guests! Everyone we spoke to commented on how much they loved the music. -- Ian E, Lancaster, PA, 4/7/2012
