DESCRIPTION:
James,s projects are of diversified acoustic variety. THE CHICKEN HILL BOYS- is our Blues/Rock/Folk/Jazz/Bluegrass mix all with acoustic instruments therefor being able to provide different audio volumes for different needs. This group's sound is unique and original and is compiled of musicians who have played regionally in some of the best groups in the area including Fur Line Volcanoes, Blue Bambooza, The Skellingtons, and the very popular alternative country group The Emma Gibbs Band who were one of the most successful bands to ever come out of the triad. You will not hear another band sound like this one. Lead by the songwriting and vocal talents of Peter Spivak, we provide a mixture of original material with recognizable covers. Band also includes James Bernabe on Mandolin and bass, Lee Terry -who was named "Musician of the Year" and had "Album of the Year" by the Winston-Salem Journal- on bass and guitar, Brent Buckner on harmonica, and Neal Goode on percussion.
FAMILY EVERSOLE is our more traditional bluegrass band and are lead by banjo player and songwriter Andrew Eversole, James Bernabe on mandolin, and consist of a variety of different rotating line-ups of talented bluegrass players from Wilmington to Asheville including David Vai, Shane Lee, Mark Shimmick [of Larry Keel Experience, Bennett Sullivan, Ryan Eversole, Benji Smith, Mark Griffeth, Sarah Strable, and many others.
The musicians in these bands have played,toured,and-or shared the stage with some of the best in the business including Doc Watson, Little Feat, Sam Bush, Larry Keel, Donna The Buffalo, Ralph Stanley, Bela Fleck, Tony Rice, and many more.
