Description
Bobby Maynard & Breakdown is a three member bluegrass band that is high energy, entertaining, and versatile. Each member is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. We play a variety of bluegrass favorites and origianal songs. Fast banjo pickin' and fiddlin' hoedowns are crowd favorites. Old time clawhammer banjo tunes, comedy songs, and gospel are also included in our repertoire. Upright bass, mandolin, and guitar are featured as well. We can provide the sound system if needed.
Bobby Maynard's Bio:
For over thirty years, Bobby Maynard has played the music that he loves. An accomplished musician on banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, and bass, Bobby has produced three solo CDs, "Gospel Pickin," "It's What I Do," and "Holly Jolly Pickin'." All of these recordings feature Bobby playing all the instruments. In June 2004, Bobby and his band, Bobby Maynard & Breakdown, released a new CD "Sounds Like Hillbillies." Bobby's newest project is entitled "Livin' Lovin' Laughin'" and features 13 tracks, including 11 original songs written by Bobby. The songs on the new CD offer the listener a great variety from toe-tapping to touching to humorous, with two fresh and flaming instrumentals.
On October 23, 2010, Bobby will be taping an appearance on RFD-TV's Shotgun Red Variety Show in Branson, Missouri. Bobby will be performing "Go Getter," a crowd favorite and one of his original songs on Livin' Lovin' Laughin'.
Also in 2010, Livin' Lovin' Laughin' was nominated for Best Traditional Bluegrass Album of the Year by the Rural Roots Music Commission.
On August 31, 2008, Bobby was honored by being inducted into the West Virginia Country Music Hall of Fame in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. Other 2008 inductees included Hawkshaw Hawkins and Charlie McCoy.
In 2008, Bobby signed with Lamon Records in Nashville, Tennessee, and his "Livin' Lovin' Laughin'" CD is out on the Lamon label. The first cut on the CD, "East to West Virginia," is a featured video, with the single released in May 2009.
Bobby's professional career encompasses a broad range of musical styles, including playing in approximately 45 states and Canada with artists such as Dolly Parton, Lee Greenwood, The Jordanaires, Little Jimmy Dickens, Johnny Russell, Helen Cornelius, Ava Barber, Jack Greene, Jean Shepard, Billy Walker, Don Rigsby, Dry Branch Fire Squad, Melvin Goins and Windy Mountain, The Lewis Family, Ernie Thacker, and many others. In addition, Bobby worked as a fulltime musician at two theme parks, Dollywood, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and Six Flags Fiesta Texas, in San Antonio, Texas.
Notable performances include the Grand Ole Opry; Philadelphia Folk Festival; Wintergrass Festival in Tacoma, Washington; Strawberry Festival in Yosemite, California; and the Withlacoochee Bluegrass Festival in Dunnellon, Florida.
At the 2000 Vandalia Gathering in Charleston, West Virginia, Bobby won first place in the West Virginia State Banjo Contest playing bluegrass banjo. Bobby's CDs are featured at the prestigious Tamarack in Beckley, West Virginia. In May of 2002, the Tamarack named Bobby its 2002 Performing Artist of the Year. In April 2004, Bobby earned the "TOP SALES PRODUCER" Award at the Tamarack for the outstanding sale of his CDs.

Feedback
- Bobby and Breakdown did a wonderful job. They were very professional, on time and did a wonderful job. They had a great sense of humor and wove that into their performance. Bobby responded to my e*mails in a timely manner. We all really enjoyed the music! Great picking on the banjo and also had some great original songs, old favorites and some great gospel. -- Joyce M, Alexandria, KY, 7/16/2011
