Elissa fell in love with the freedom of movement, energy of the music, and the strength of feminine grace found in belly dancing at a young age. She began studying with Nanette Young and performing with The Dancers of Amara, a performing troupe from the Central Coast of California. Soon she was performing at restaurants and various other functions, festivals and parties in San Luis Obispo County.
For over 15 years, Elissa has trained and taken workshops with Saundra Sarrouf of the Central Coast, Ansuya, Tamra-Henna, Heather Stants, Jillina, Sahra Saeeda, Alexandra King, Zahra Zuhair, Aubre, Helena Vlahos, Egyptian Master Randa Kamel, and Sadie.
Elissa shines at accentuating the beauty of Middle Eastern dance and incorporates the dynamic styles of flamenco and tribal fusion dance to make it her own while still recognizing the authenticity of each unique style.
Elissa has performed as a solo artist throughout Southern California since 2007 and has performed for celebrities Virginia Madsen, Shaq, and for the wedding anniversary of a Saudi prince and princess. She currently performs as the house dancer at Eden's Garden Cafe in Glendora and Zahle in North Hollywood with live musician, Chadi Hamdan, every Friday and Saturday night. She is also available for weddings, family functions, nightclubs and restaurants, corporate events, dinner shows, etc.
