Nancy has been involved in dance since she was three, and trained in ballet and jazz before discovering middle eastern belly dance. She began her belly dance training in 2004 with top Los Angeles teachers, and was soon performing with groups such as Layla and Lotus Dancers and Jillina's Sahlahla Dancers. Wanting to excel at being a solo artist Nancy furthered her training with a certificate from the Ansuya comprehensive and attended many workshops and intensives in the states. She then traveled to the originating lands of belly dance, Egypt and Turkey to learn the culture as well as the dance. In Turkey she stayed in a village and trained with Sema Yildiz a legendary dancer whom she also traveled with to Istanbul and stayed with her personally. Nancy also received a certificate at the Ahlan Wa Sahlan Egyptian Intensive Teachers Course in Cairo, Egypt. There she learned from the greats Dr. Mogeddawi, Raqia Hassan, Dina, and Randa Kamal and was even interviewed on an Egyptian english radio station, Nile FM while she was there. With this talent she has traveled to Germany to perform with Persian artist Nema during a world soccer cup performance and graced the stage with the band Visa in concert venues such as the Roxy, The Derby, Knitting Factory, and Troubador in Los Angeles. Belly Dancing in front of over 50,000 people at the LA Colliseum For the annual Electric Daisy festival and belly dancing at the Rose Bowl for a half time show for Persian singer Andy were highlights in her career. She was also chosen to belly dance and choreograph for a David Longoria Concert taped for a PBS Special. Nancy is blessed to entertain at weddings, birthdays, private party celebrations, festivals, restaurants, and night clubs, and would love to perform for you! She will bring joyful energy and help to make your event a success , you won't be disappointed! She can also accomodate group shows with other dancers and musicians!
