Carla DelVillaggio - Barbra Streisand Impersonator

Winner of the 2008 AGENT'S BEST IMPRESSED AWARD at the recent Sunburst Convention of Professional Tribute Artists, this exciting performer has the look and sound of "the Greatest Star", the incomparable Barbra Streisand. From the hair, down to the trademark nails, Carla is "Simply Streisand" in every way. Singing live, to recorded background musical tracks, Carla recreates the excitement and high energy vocals of Streisand's most powerful numbers and at the same time has the capability of singing with a beauty and purity of sound essential for the ballads that are so closely associated with this greatest of all singing actresses.

Carla brings to this project more than 25 years of professional experience as a singer and stage performer, as well as a passion for and appreciation of the exquisite artistry of Ms. Streisand. Having spent most of her career as a classically trained opera singer, Carla has always been inspired by and drawn to the voice and persona of Ms. Streisand and she has successfully captured the essence and thrilling artistry of the one and only "Funny Girl" herself.

This project began as many have in the "impersonator" business. Over the years, friends, family and strangers often remarked about her resemblance to Streisand in looks and mannerisms, as well as her voice. Over and over she heard "has anyone ever told you that you look like….?" so she began to think about it in a more serious way. Her Streisand impersonation had its premiere performance at the Sunburst Convention for Look-Alikes and Celebrity Impersonators in Orlando, Fl. in 2006. To say that the response has been overwhelming would be an understatement.

During the convention, her act was one of a small handful to be chosen by a British film crew for inclusion in their documentary about Celebrity Impersonators, and she was also filmed by the Tonight Show. Since that time she has performed all over the state of Florida at everything from private parties to corporate events. She even showed up at a corporate fundraiser as Roz Focker, Ms Streisand's alter ego from the movie, "Meet the Fockers"

Carla's uncanny resemblance to "Vintage" 1964 Barbra, as well as her skill in portraying Ms Streisand as we know her now, has given her the ability to create a show tentatively entitled "A Tribute to the Artistry of Barbra Streisand…Then and Now". This show encompasses the classic songs so closely identified with the early "Funny Girl" as well as the songs she has made her own in more recent years. "Then and Now" is unique in the industry as no one else performs as the young Barbra Streisand.

Whether she is dressed as the young "Funny Girl" or as Streisand during her Timeless Tour of 2000, Carla can provide you with a classy, elegant, professional and very entertaining performance of almost any length for almost any type of event. She is available for private parties, corporate events, holiday gatherings, theatrical venues, night clubs, and "meet and greets", as well as inclusion in a larger Vegas-styled tribute show.

Audiences enjoy participating in the entertainment as she invites a guest to be her "Neil Diamond" in the duet, "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" and others perform as her backup singers and dancers for "The Main Event".
