Dave Champagne

I have been a professional bagpiper in Southern California since 1980. For over 20 years I was a member of the band "The Nicholson Pipes and Drums" based in Westminster, California and was a founding member. The group was started by Kathleen Nicholson from Vancouver, BC who played with the "Vancouver Ladies" under the direction of her father Pipe Sergeant Malcolm Nicholson. She was the first woman bagpiper to ever appear on television in the 1950's. Needless to say, my piping instruction was strict.

In addition to performing at weddings and memorial services, I have also appeared on CBS's "The Mentalist," NBC's "Free Agents" and other television venues. I also specialize in studio session recording, special events, and church services with the Highland bagpipes, the Irish Uilleann pipes, penny whistles and other assorted Celtic instruments. I have been in pipe and/or Celtic bands since 1980 and am currently a member of the Celtic Group "Craicmore."

Every performance that I give is tailor-made to my client. I always give a prompt, professional response to any inquiry, and quite often give suggestions to those who have never incorporated a piper for an event.
