Trey Presson & The Bootheel Contingent are an Outlaw Country, Southern Rock and pyschadelic Mix that will gnaw at the heart of a Southern man. Mainly considering themselves Southern Rock, Outlaw Country, or Americana, they make it clear that they are just in simplest terms..."A Southern Rock Band". It seems even when they cover a song not in the southern rock genre they do it in their own way, but in a way that doesnt lose its original luster, but tastefully having their own take on it. All the members come from Different Styles and backgrounds in music. Some Harder Edged Rock music, others more classic Rock style, Some Jam Band Improvisational roots and then some being big fans of the Outlaw Movement and Country Music. It's the bringing of all those styles together for an original sound, that sets them apart, and makes them different and edgy to every genre they dabble with. Originality is an art that is sometimes lost in the music world, but not with this band.
Being no stranger to the road or the hard times that comes with living every day just to play a song, gives this band its lifeblood, makes them real and humble people, in turn makes their following of devoted fans travel miles with ease just to see what will happen next and give them great support.
Having five members that are all versatile players. Trey Presson being lead vocals, Guitar, & mandolin. Josh Monroe also on vocals harmonizing with Trey, Playing Guitar, and also the bass guitar depending on the situation. Tim Morrison pounding out the time on Drums. Mike Cokenour on Lead Guiatr, and also playing the drums. Then Steve Clinton rounds it out playing Lead Guitar, Mandolin, Dobro, Banjo, and pretty much any other string instrument that you can think of.
The Bootheel Contingent is a band that is fueled by Original Music. They believe in their own songs, which makes them play with passion and conviction, but the covers they play are done with the same conviction and honesty. It's an emotional connection to the crowd that they are after.
They have their first album soon to be released in April/May of 2009 which is 11 tracks of celebrating, and bringin to life all things that are good about feelin alive in the South.
