THE BEES KNEES BIG BAND is a great option for your next event and we'll even arrange 5 songs of your choice at no extra cost. Of course, the songs would need to fit the genre of music we do... "Music From The 40's 50's & 60's, ALL THE GOOD STUFF"
If a full Big Band is not in your budget, or space is limited, we have some options for you.
1. Tommy Burnevik's THE BEES KNEES BIG BAND is an exciting Big Band playing "Music From The 40's 50's & 60's, ALL THE GOOD STUFF"
2. The Tommy Burnevik Band gives you a 5 piece band playing a 50's style of Jump Swing Blues and a mix of some great 60's R&B.
3. Tommy Burnevik's One Man Band is a cost effective option and may make sense if you don't have the space or budget for a full band.
A bit about Tommy: At the age of 18, he was jamming at the local Minneapolis blues clubs. He would show up, jump on stage and wail on his sax. Tommy was quickly recognized as a soulful blues player with a unique raunchy style.
He joined The Lamont Cranston Band and recorded several projects with them including the first album featuring Tommy's sax playing on great tunes like "Aint nobody here but us chickens". In the course of playing with Lamont Cranston, he had many musical adventures, one of which was a trip to Chicago where he played with Blues greats including Koko Taylor, Sunnyland Slim and Howlin Wolfs Band to name a few.
After 4 years with Lamont Cranston, he formed his own 9 piece swing blues band called "THE BEES KNEES BIG BAND". His vocal style and honkin & screamin tenor sax was sure to get you off your seat and on your feet. Recognized as one of Minnesota's top ten bands, Tommy Burnevik and The Bees Knees Big Band was a guaranteed good time.
Tommy then joined the 80's rock band The Suburbs. With deep roots in the Blues, his sax playing on tracks like "Love is the law" added a cool twist to an awesome edgy rock band.
Now, Tommy Burnevik's THE BEES KNEES BIG BAND is back and we're lovin' it!

Howlin Wolf Band, Prodigy, Dean Magraw, Flaming O's, Hot Rod, Lamont Cranston, Joel Johnson, Elvin Bishop, Asleep At The Wheel, The Pistons, The Bees Knees, The Hoop Snakes, Dan Aykroyd, Kim Wilson, Lynwood Slim, The Suburbs, Soul Asylum, Johnny Lang and more.

"Our theme for our wedding reception was an "Elegant Barn Party" and we wanted everything to be unique and an experience our guest would remember. We had over 200 guests, of which most had extremely different backgrounds and diverse music tastes. Tommy's quality and style of music provided entertainment that pleased all ages. Throughout the reception, and still today, I am hearing compliments about the band and inquiries on how we found them. Tommy was extremely easy to work with and efficient in providing needed information. His sense of humor and thorough preparation allowed for a stress free experience. I highly recommend him! "
