During the last several months I’ve provided music for events just like yours all over the country, from New Jersey to Austin, TX… from Richmond, VA to Key West, FL. I’ve won awards as a solo blues entertainer. I have a perfect 5.0 Feedback rating here at Gigmasters. I love what I do and I love getting to use my musical talents to make special events like yours even more special. I love getting to know my customers and most become more like family than customers. If you haven’t heard me then what can you expect? Well for starters, I’m very unique. Really! I’m an accomplished guitarist of 30+ years, I’m a nationally recognized blues harmonica player and of course I sing… all while playing the drums with my feet. That’s right… drums with my feet. I always hear, “Man I thought that was a 4-piece band” or “That’s just a ton of music for one person to put out”. But that’s what makes me so popular and well received… I do put out a ton of high energy music that is totally, completely, 100% live music. No prerecorded backup tracks. I’ll go from song to song, many times going for 90 minutes without even stopping… one song goes into the next and then into the next. More times than not, I end up playing the entire length of the event without taking a break. When I do take a break I’ll spin tracks that are sure to keep folks up on the dance floor. I use the best equipment available with partnerships with folks like Lee Oscar harps, Bose sound systems, Alesis digital drums, Roland drum triggers and Godin acoustic guitars.
I’ve been called “North Carolina’s own Keb Mo’”, “The best damn drummer with his feet in the world”, “More blues and soul than a white man should be able to have” and the former editor in chief at Rolling Stone magazine said of me after hearing me perform that “He's got all the best parts of Delbert McClinton packaged with a ton of personality and showmanship and man... it's just one guy”.

- We had a small dinner reception following our wedding and Owen was perfect. He definitely tunes in to the "feel" of your event and adjusts his music selections accordingly.
We didn't give him any music lists, but he noted the song we walked down the aisle to and included it in his repertoire. Additionally, my husband made an impromptu request for a song that isn't well-known. Owen knew it and blew us away with his rendition.
You absolutely can not go wrong hiring this professional for your event - whatever that event may be. In fact, we are trying to find a reason to have another party just so we can bring Owen back!!

- Owen Poteat was the catalyst that made my daughter's wedding her dream come true. His professionalism, his talent, his flexibility are all top notch. Our guests were so fascinated by his performance that many indicated they would love to travel to one of his shows to see and hear him again. - Owen and his wife were very warm,accomodating, and professional. Owen played for us during the rehearsal dinner and for the ceremony and reception. His prices were beyond reasonable considering he trying all the way from North Carolina to Texas. Our event had family and friends of all ages, and Owen made sure everyone had a fabulous time. Our guests raved about him, and I will definitely consider Owen again should we have another big event. - Well for anyone wanting great entertainment at their event Owen is the best. I have attended many functions with live bands, etc and I can honestly say I enjoyed Owen the best. For anyone not looking at him you would think it was a full band, but it is only him. He performed at my wedding and I had some many compliments on him and I even had other entertainers there. I also had two event coordinators who wanted me to give his information so they could book him for other things. I could not believe someone of his caliber would play at my party!
In addition, he is a very likeable guy: friendly, easy to work with, no ego issues. He arrived an hour and a half early to set up.

- The best way to describe Owen is amazing. We could not have asked for a better musician to play at our wedding. - Owen arrived at 5:35 for a 7 PM event. He was extremely cordial and easy going during the set-up. He was not overbearing. He was relaxed. His music was perfect. He accomadated all our special requests. He is quite talented as he not only plays the guitar, but the harmonica, and the drums (with his foot). I would highly recommend him to others. - We asked a lot of Owen: acoustic only for ceremony music, then set up outside for a short reception, then set up inside for a late night gathering . .. he did it all, and wonderfully! Everyone had a great time, and largely due to the music - listening, dancing, hanging out. . . .whatever you want! We even got comments from staff at the Inn the next day about what great music we had going on! - Owen performed at our son's wedding rehearsal dinner. He was wonderful. His music was right on target - very talented! He was cordial, well dressed and easy to contact through the planning stages of the event. He arrived on time and played the entire evening. There were many guests at the dinner who took his number and plan to hire him for their events in the future. I will definitely book Owen again. As a matter of fact, we're trying to cook something up here at the beach in the near future.

- Owen was amazing. It is too difficult to put to words of how a one man band can fill a room with the energy and sound that a 4 piece blues/accoustic band would have. He will be our annual entertainer at the holiday party....we will need to not interview anyone else. If anyone is looking for a great entertainer and they don't hire Owen...they are making a mistake. - Owen was a saving grace! My original musician had cancelled 3 weeks prior to the wedding. I entered my bid into Gig Masters and received a call from Owen immediately. Owen played a song that my nephew could sing to us. My nephew is a a formal entertainer on a music scholarship and the two of them (Owen and Tyler) performed the most beautiful song together...without any rehearsal!

- Owen Poteat was an absolute answer to prayer. I contacted him at almost the final hour... thus giving him little time to prepare. Without hesitation he accepted the invitation to play for our rehersal dinner and as part of the entertainment for the wedding. He was able to learn the song I requested for the mother/son dance within one week... and did it "perfectly". He was able to appeal to all ages and all taste of music. I would reccomend him to anyone, not only for his talent ...but because he is an absolutely delightful gentleman.
My mother's 80th birthday will be this August and I definitely will be requesting Owen for our muscial entertainment.
Thank you Owen for bringing the word "perfect" to our evening.
