Description

Swift Creek's unique approach to Americana music and love of playing for live audiences has made them a popular band on the Triangle music scene. The band's upbeat music features originals, great bluegrass, honky tonk and folk/rock covers and new interpretations of old favorites. The band places equal emphasis on current Americana artists including Old Crow Medicine Show, Lucinda Williams, The Wilders, Gillian Welch and The Avett Brothers, as well as performing songs written by band members Chris Martin and Kevin Brown and local songwriter Justin Robertson. Swift Creek's trademarks are intricate 2 and 3 part vocal harmonies and lively instrumentals featuring guitars, mandolin, dobro, bass, harmonica and percussion. They've got a great "roots" sound that audiences love.

Feedback

  • Swift Creek Revival is a gem of a band. They preformed at my “low country”-themed wedding on July 17, 2010 and were just awesome. They arrived on time, set up quickly and were so professional. They had wonderful suggestions - I wasn't sure what to use as the processional music, and their suggested piece was ideal. As far as special requests- our desired first-dance song was a punk-rock song, and Swift Creek learned it and preformed the most beautiful bluegrass version of it I've ever heard. If this band is available and willing to work your gig - jump on the opportunity! You won’t regret it. They truly made the event and are wonderful musicians. -- Julia M, Durham, NC, 7/17/2010
  • They were prompt, friendly, funny and nice people. They can play bluegrass and country really well. They can also add in some pop and mix it up. I will use them again when we have another chance. -- Shari H, Holly Springs, NC, 5/25/2011
  • Everyone had a great time. BY the end of the evening, there was lots of dancing and some of the participants had acquired instruments from the band and were joining in with the music. Everyone in the band was friendly and patient and they got a good feel for the audience. Ann was especially good about staying in touch and working out details. I also felt the price was very reasonable. Ann Terhune -- Ann T, Chapel Hill, NC, 6/17/2011
