The Sweetspires

The Sweetspires is an Atlanta based ensemble consisting of voice, guitar and cello. We offer a nice alternative to the sounds of a string quartet, yet are still an intimate group that can create whatever ambiance you are seeking for your event. We are unique in that we are versatile playing both classical and popular music with traditional standards such as Ave Maria or Pachelbel's Canon as well as covers such as "Feels Like Home" or "At Last" or "Can't Help Falling in Love." We also have a selection of original songs that we've performed at numerous shows and concerts.

We have each trained extensively in classical music and hold degrees in music performance from various colleges across the continent. And although we perform as a duo, we are happy to include pieces for solo cello, and also instrumental guitar/cello duos to accommodate a particular song. If you have a specific song request, we would be happy to arrange it.

The Sweetspires have performed all along the east coast from Atlanta, GA to New York City. We are ideal for weddings, corporate events, parties, receptions, cocktail hours, coffee shops, restaurants...

We can play acoustically for intimate settings or play amplified to cover a larger audience/room size – this is often necessary with large outdoor weddings and noisy receptions or parties. We have our own sound equipment, but our instruments also have pickups that can be used with external sound systems. Since we are a group that routinely plays non-classical music, we are comfortable playing in situations where we are amplified.

• The girls were wonderful! We had several special requests and they were accommodating at every turn! They are both so talented and all of our guests enjoyed the combination of the guitar and cello- as well as the beautiful vocals.
