Formed in 2009, TNT-Chicago Ultimate AC/DC Tribute makes its mark on the audience by capturing the rock and roll essence of AC/DC. AC/DC is sometimes considered a hard rock band but they're really one of classic rock's super-groups—just a straight-on rock and roll band that's sold the highest charting group album of all time (Back in Black). And many would be surprised if they stop and considered how widely heard their music is (at sporting events, in movies and even in the local drugstore). TNT-Chicago performs AC/DC's hit songs and fan favorites the same way as the iconic band itself—sounding just like AC/DC and delivering a tribute experience with unmatched realism.
What separates TNT-Chicago from other tribute bands is that they have carbon-copied AC/DC's essence and merged it with their own unique energy. TNT's “Angus” Mike Sawinski wears the iconic school-boy uniform and roams the stage non-stop while playing the signature riffs and leads note-for-note. The band's lead singer, Jim Irwin, also performs in AC/DC's period stage clothes and incredibly sounds just like both of AC/DC's widely heard lead singers, Bon Scott and Brian Johnson. The entire band plays the exact same types of signature guitars and basses plugged directly into a wall of Marshall amplifiers with no frills or special effects just like AC/DC. TNT-Chicago has been opening the eyes (and ears) of fans new and old at Midwestern festivals, special events and clubs alike. The attitude of AC/DC cannot be faked, so TNT-Chicago doesn't try – they've got their own performance and it's one that works. What hits you first is the heart, energy and musicianship that these five performers pour into their show. Most importantly it's genuine – TNT-Chicago does AC/DC their way, the only way they know how. Audiences are repeatedly impressed and can't believe it isn't AC/DC.
