Description

TEMPEST features guitar, keyboards and drums. All 3 musicians are from the 60's playing the great music of the 60's. Johnny Baer, guitar and vocals, played with many local and regional bands and backed up several national artists from the 60's, Lesley Gore, Jack Greene, and others. He went on to work with Joey Dee and The Starlighters. (Peppermint Twist) John Weber, drums and vocals, played with the New Blues Messengers. Tom Fortener, keyboards and vocals, played with several groups before forming Tom and the Tempest's. His group played for many school dances, proms and the 1964 New York World's Fair. That is how we got the name, TEMPEST. You will dance the night away and reminisce the good times of the 60's. We have been told we are a great band to dance to. We make your evening an event doing sock hops, best dressed contest, dance contests. We also do "Prom Night" another event to dress up and reminisce. We always encourage requests. It's not what we want to play, it's what you want to hear! We do a few unusual audience participation things that make us different than other groups that just play music. We play recorded music on our breaks to keep the party going. (Which includes current popular line dances. It's like having a band and a DJ.) TEMPEST is available for any type of event. References are available on the photo page. Let TEMPEST make your 60's event memorable for you and all your guests to remember!
